A better plant-based milk for your coffee

Hi everyone,
It's cold, wet and windy today so I'm sipping a warming cup of chai with oat milk and honey and thinking I need to update you on a new and improved plant-based milk the local organic store has found.
We were using The Alternative Dairy Co. Oat Milk for coffees because it does froth really well and doesn't curdle at all with the coffee which has an acidic pH. However, it does contain canola oil and unfortunately, unless otherwise stated, canola oil is usually genetically modified (GM). So... the wonderful staff at The Organic Store McLaren Vale have tracked down an even better option - OMG Barista Oat Milk. It has no canola oil just olive oil - hurrah! And it's lower in sodium which is always a plus. It's not organic but I haven't found any organic ones that work well with coffee - feel free to enlighten me if I've missed one. It has passed the Hubby test for coffee which is probably an even bigger endorsement than being Carla Approved!
My other favourite plant-based milk, which I use for porridge, smoothies, mashed potato and anything else other than hot drinks is the Nutty Bruce Unsweetened Activated Almond Milk which is organic! This one is available at some supermarkets including McLaren Vale Coles and it's in the fridge. It doesn't have any added oils at all.
Happy supping!
Carla :)
