Firstly, thank you so much for the interest in being a guinea pig for the probiotic for mental health mini trial I'm doing. There is still time to join so if you would like more information email me and I'll send some through.
Today's email is about a book I read (well listened to) about dyslexia. It's called "The Gift of Dyslexia" by Ronald Davis. It's a fascinating insight into dyslexia as the author had dyslexia himself. As an adult and an engineer he managed to work out what was happening in his brain to allow the dyslexia to manifest. He also mapped out a way of correcting the unhelpful parts of dyslexia and was able to realise the gift that people with dyslexia have.
If you or anyone close to you has dyslexia I would highly recommend reading the book or listening to the audiobook to help your understanding of what is going on in the brain with dyslexia. The gift or upside that Ronald describes is remarkable - an ability to "look" at a stationary object from all angles using only the mind's eye.
The book is available at the library in South Australia and all the usual online bookstores. The audiobook is available on Audible. More information about Ronald's teaching method for dyslexia can be found here.
P.P.S. Online bookings are available for current clients.
