The Impossible Cure - my book pick for the month

Hi everyone,

After a study week last week I thought it was about time I started to introduce you to the wonderful world of homeopathy that I've been learning about for the past 2 years (and another 2 years to come)!

Homeopathy is system of natural medicine that has been around since the late 1700s, starting in Germany.  Although it's a natural medicine, it's completely different from herbalism and naturopathy, however they can be used concurrently.  I grew up with homeopathy because mum studied it when we were little and has used it with family and friends ever since.  So for me it's just normal practice.  However, if you're unfamiliar with homeopathy or even skeptical about it I highly recommend the book "The Impossible Cure" by Amy Lansky.

It's available on Audible as an audiobook too - and this is how I got hubby to listen to it while we were on a road trip a few years ago.  So I can tell you it's actually hubby approved - which is no mean feat for a health related book (he has a very different book collection to me!)  Amy talks about homeopathy from the perspective of a mum with an unwell child and as a left-brained NASA scientist.  It's an easy and engaging read and I've never heard anyone explain homeopathy better.

If you decide to purchase the book, please consider buying it from The Aurum Project book barn as this is a research hub for homeopathy in Australia doing some amazing work.

What do I love about homeopathy?

  • it is safe and effective for babies and women during pregnancy and breastfeeding

  • it can be used alongside other treatments including pharmaceutical medications.

  • it can be used for acute issues such as coughs, colds and injuries as well as chronic ongoing issues.

  • it can be used with animals.

  • homeopathy and kinesiology align beautifully together

There is plenty more to say but I honestly think reading the book is the best place to start.  If you have any questions about whether homeopathy might be a good choice for you please let me know.  I can refer you onto an experienced homeopath while I'm still a student or you can be one of my guinea pigs when I start doing supervised clinic next year!

Happy homeopathying!

Carla :)
